Murder in the First Degree – Penalties – New York
- 20 to life up to life without parole in New York State prison
- Death (currently unconstitutional because of People V. Lavalle, 3 NY3d 88 (2004)
- Fine of up to $5,000
- Restitution or reparation (PL 60.27)
- If a crime of terrorism or a sexually motivated felony, the sentence must be life without parole (see PL 60.06, 490.25, 130.91, 70.80)
